Sunday nights are the best night of the week. Well, for me anyway. My name is Gabby, and I am a tenth grade self- proclaimed fangirl. I hail from the great state of Massachusetts, and attend an all-girls high school. At home, I live with my mother, step-dad, and nearly ten-month-old little brother, Liam.
To everyone who meets me, it's easy to see that I'm obsessed. Some call it a problem, but I call it a gift. While most people are spending their Sunday nights with their families, I'm sitting in front of my television watching my favorite characters get into trouble, come together as family, and learn to love. Depending on the season, I am either obsessing over Captain Hook in ABC's Once Upon a Time, or checking out Anthony Foyle (a.k.a. Lord Gillingham) in Downton Abbey. During summer break and the off-seasons of my two favorite shows, I frequent the movie theater and watch as the books I love are brought to the big screen.
Why is she so obsessed? you might be asking yourself at this moment. Well, I believe that within each and every one of us women, there is a secret desire to be the heroic female lead and the strong-willed lady of the manor, but still be treated with the respect and dignity of a princess. Once Upon a Time and Downton Abbey both focus partially on women who can take charge and get things done, but in the end, the main man cannot help but fall completely in love with her. I see in Emma Swan and Lady Mary Grantham qualities that I want to have, and some faults that I know I already possess. Not to mention the fact that they have some of the most attractive men I've seen running after them all of the time!
"Tune in" during the week to hear my take on the latest Mary scandal, whether Emma and Hook ever end up together, and who's mad at whom in the worlds of Downton and Storybrooke.
Can't wait to see your character analyses! Might be chiming in with my own on Rumplestiltskin and the Dowager Countess. <3
